Day ? Without Sports: Movies

Okay I've lost count of how many days it's been since we've had sports, but I think it's been a week or there about. Quarantine life is getting a little boring, but we're trying to keep things moving business as usual. If you missed any of this week's podcasts you can check them out!

BOTB 3/16 - Best Sweets Bracket, New Host Power Rankings, Voicemails

BRAS 3/18 - Bras on the Balcony - Episode #54

Quaratine Szn is the perfect chance to not only catch up on your favorite tv shows, but also your favorite movies. Maybe you haven't seen that latest Hollywood flick? Now's your chance. (as long as it is available to stream) I love movies with a good twist at the end and sports movies are always a slam dunk (pun intended) too.

Some of my personal favorites include Field of Dreams, Blindside, Hoosiers and Remember the Titans. Although, my all-time favorite movie has to be Shawshank Redemption. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman both put together excellent performances and the ultimate theme of the movie ties together nicely in the end. I won't give away any spoilers, but if you haven't seen it, stop everything you are doing and watch it immediately.

Here's what some others are watching with the extra time on their hands...

Friday Night Lights - Based on H.G. Bissinger's book, which profiled the economically depressed town of Odessa, Texas and their heroic high school football team, The Permian High Panthers.

Avatar - A paraplegic Marine dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.

Schindler's List - In German-occupied Poland during World War II, industrialist Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazis.

Sandlot - In the summer of 1962, a new kid in town is taken under the wing of a young baseball prodigy and his rowdy team, resulting in many adventures.

No Country For Old Men - Violence and mayhem ensue after a hunter stumbles upon a drug deal gone wrong and more than two million dollars in cash near the Rio Grande.

Ready Player One - When the creator of a virtual reality called the OASIS dies, he makes a posthumous challenge to all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune and control of his world.

The Dark Knight - When the menace known as the Joker wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, Batman must accept one of the greatest psychological and physical tests of his ability to fight injustice.

Gladiator - A former Roman General sets out to exact vengeance against the corrupt emperor who murdered his family and sent him into slavery.

Contagion - Healthcare professionals, government officials and everyday people find themselves in the midst of a pandemic as the CDC works to find a cure.
